Heads up! We @tenfoldtattoo and friends are joining forces with Novice Sister Leeva Wetspot of the Emerald City Sisters, @tiffalicious_rex, and the gracious owners of White Crow Cider Company to bring you a fundraising event benefitting ACE Foundation!
In case you haven't heard, the Affirmative Care Essentials (ACE) Foundation was founded in 2022 by local Nurse Practitioners Amanda and Vincent Mogoi to help provide care and resources to community members in need.
Transgender people often face significant challenges accessing healthcare resources that meet their unique needs.
There are several reasons for this, including stigma, discrimination, and lack of knowledge among healthcare providers about the specific health issues and needs of transgender people.
The lack of healthcare resources and gender affirming care for transgender people can have serious consequences, including higher rates of mental health issues, substance abuse, and suicide. Amanda and Vincent found it essential as healthcare providers to help support their transgender patients and other LGBTQIA+ people in our community.
Through their passion for this community, the ACE Foundation was created.
This fundraiser was born from my passion for helping our
LGBTQIA + friends and family, the only way I know how-through tattooing! When I brought it to my good friend Sister Leeva, she felt it was her calling and mission to help bring it to life. Soon, White Crow Cider Company offered their amazing, welcoming space as a place for folks to gather and commiserate while sipping on libations, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and meet some great community resources!
While at Tenfold, meet our friends at ACE Foundation, M-Care Healthcare, Planned Parenthood, and Positive Directions (who will provide free HIV rapid testing from 11-2!)
Continue in the festivities at White Crow with Wichita Pride (get your admission for ICT Pride the following Saturday!), Camp Sunflower, WASAC, Safe Streets ICT, Queer Beers, Queer Connect ICT, and Kansas Queer Labor Connection.
