Tattoo Aftercare
Remove bandage from your tattoo in 1-2 hours.
Wash your tattoo well with an antibacterial soap and water (we recommend Dial). Be sure to wash off any traces of blood and plasma or this can lead to excessive scabbing.
Once soap is rinsed off, pat your tattoo dry with a clean towel or paper towel.
Apply a very small amount of any kind of fragrance free, white hand lotion to your tattoo. (Lubriderm, Curel, Aveeno etc). It is important that you are merely moisturizing your tattooing and not leaving a thick layer of lotion to sit on it.
Repeat this process (wash, pat dry, moisturize) 3-4 times per day until your tattoo is healed. Typically the initial healing time is 7-10 days, though may be longer in certain skin types.
During your healing time, you may get your tattoo wet in a shower but prolonged soaking in the shower or submerging under water in a pool, hot tub, or lake is not recommended.
It is normal for your tattoo to itch, flake or scab as it heals, refrain from scratching or picking at it.
If any signs or symptoms of reaction or infection occur- please consult a physician.
DO NOT touch your tattoo with dirty hands or let anyone else touch it while it is healing.
